General Manager (Operations / Ecommerce / Distribution)

About the Role

£85,000–£90,000 + Bonus + Future Profit Share + Progression to Managing Director + Long-Term Growth Opportunity    

Are you an experienced General Manager or Operations Director from an inventory-led business environment, such as ecommerce, retail, distribution, warehousing, supply chain or product-based operations, looking for an opportunity where you can take ownership of a growing business and directly influence its long-term direction?  

On offer is the opportunity to join a rapidly growing premium product business where you will become the operational engine behind the company, working directly alongside the owner to drive profitability, improve systems, lead department heads and shape the future of the organisation.       

In this role, you will oversee multiple departments across operations, customer service, finance, procurement, marketing and warehousing. You will focus on improving systems, driving accountability, enhancing profitability and ensuring high standards across the business while supporting long-term strategic growth plans.      

This role would suit a General Manager, Operations Director, Head of Operations or senior business leader from an inventory-based environment rather than service-led businesses, with experience managing stock, logistics, supply chains and multi-disciplinary teams. 

The Role

  • Lead and manage key department heads across the business
  • Drive operational improvements and ERP/system optimisation
  • Oversee warehouse, procurement and supply chain performance
  • Partner with finance to manage budgets, P&L and commercial performance
  • Support recruitment, team development and performance management
  • Improve operational efficiency and company-wide processes
  • Work directly with ownership to execute long-term growth plans
  • Drive accountability and culture across the business

The Person

  • Experience within inventory-led environments such as ecommerce, distribution, warehousing or retail operations
  • Previous experience in a General Manager, Operations Director or senior leadership role
  • Strong understanding of P&L management and commercial performance
  • Experience managing multiple teams and department leaders
  • Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving ability
  • Experience improving systems, processes and operational structures
  • Looking for a long-term growth opportunity with progression potential
